Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is the use of
essential oils, extracted from various parts of the plant, to promote
and enhance the quality of health, beauty, mind, body, and spirit.
Essential oils, which have a consistency more like water than oil, are
the volatile components of the scent of the plant, and are
the vital life
essence of aromatic plants and flowers in a condensed form. They have
been revered for their fragrance and their restorative effect on the
body, mind and spirit for thousands of years.
Aromatic substances have been used
for beauty and healing since the earliest times. In ancient times,
wealthy Egyptians used aromatic plants (and the extracts obtained from
them) in baths and in unguents, or scented ointments.
The Greeks and Romans continued the use of aromatic substances, the
Romans more so than the Greeks. The Romans had bathing houses where
they used the perfumed oils and extracts extensively.
The use of fragrant oils and essential oils has continued throughout
the centuries, both in the form of medicine and perfumes. It wasn't
until the 1900's, however, that aromatherapy came into existence.
Our Aromatherapy range like in the ancient times taps into your senses
and makes you feel good, and helps to bring harmony and wellbeing to
the mind and spirit.
